Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent (ESASID) Scholarship
Website Description:
Drs. Jitendra M. and Saryu J. Desai established the Endowment for South Asian Students of Indian Descent (ESASID) scholarship in 2002. Starting in 2003, a scholarship is available each year for a South Asian student of Indian descent enrolled full time in his/her second, third, or fourth year at an accredited Pennsylvania medical school. Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania.

The White Coat Investor Scholarship

The scholarship awards upwards of $70,000, split equally among ten students. All winners also receive a White Coat Investor online course. Students cannot come from an online school background and must be enrolled full-time in a medical school or other professional program (law, dentistry, pharmacy, and others). The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Website Description:
Students must be under 31 years old and be the child of parents born outside of the U.S as non-U.S. citizens.Once we receive and review the applications, the top 77 applicants will be designated “finalists” and will be asked to appear for virtual interviews in late January and early February of 2025. 30 of the the 77 finalists will be selected as Fellows and will be notified in March of 2025. The 2025 Fellows will be announced publicly in April of 2025 and they will begin to receive stipend and tuition support from the program in the fall of 2025, and they will also attend the Fellowship’s Fall Conference, all expenses paid, that October. (Up to $90,000)
OSMOSIS Scholarships

OSMOSIS provides you with the right study techniques to help you retain, understand, and study more efficiently throughout med school. Excel in your classes, ace the USMLE®, and be better prepared for clinicals when you learn by OSMOSIS. The scholarships will be awarded for use towards one OSMOSIS subscription (valued at $199). Awardees must be national AMWA members and will be chosen based on embodiment of the goals of AMWA. Financial need is also considered.

Haffizulla Family Scholarship Application

This scholarship is meant to perpetuate the involvement of young leaders in disease prevention and national health and wellness. A maximum of two scholarships each in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded by Dr. Farzanna Haffizulla or her designee during the annual AMWA awards luncheon held at the annual meeting. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have been actively involved in the student division of AMWA for at least 2 years and remain a member in good standing with AMWA.

AAMC Herbert W. Nickens Medical Student Scholarships
Website Description:
Students must be nominated by their medical school. Medical schools can nominate one student a year. After nomination a student must provide a number of application materials: a full checklist can be found here.
Eligibility: This scholarship is for students entering their third year of medical school who have “shown leadership in efforts to eliminate inequities in medical education and health care. They also should have demonstrated leadership initiative in addressing educational, societal, and health care needs of racial and ethnic minorities in the United States.” Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients. Additionally, every school can only nominate a single student each year.
